About Crosslake Community Online School

Crosslake Community Online School is a growing, tuition-free public charter school serving more than 500 K-12 students across Minnesota. Our students learn from communities across our state, all connected to our school with a physical home in Crosslake.

Our teachers take the time to know their students and understand where they are academically. Every student is also assigned a learning coach, who is responsible for monitoring academic progress, collaboration with students and families, and helps make sure each student stays on track. Together, teachers and learning coaches strive for an online learning experience that gives students flexibility without losing the connection and consistency that matter in a traditional school setting.

Our environmental focus is also an important part of who we are. Students learn about the natural world and develop practical knowledge that helps them better understand the world around them.

And while learning happens online, our school experience does not stop there. Students can connect with peers through PASSes, join virtual activities and take part in a growing number of in-person experiences. Prom and graduation bring students from across Minnesota together at our Crosslake campus to celebrate major milestones with classmates, staff and families.

As students begin looking toward life after high school, our college and career counseling helps them explore their options, understand possible pathways and begin shaping what comes next.

Our approach to online learning is built around a simple idea: give students the flexibility to learn differently while developing strong relationships with teachers, consistent academic support, opportunities to connect with others and a clear path toward what comes next.
